INCREASE TRAFFIC TO YOUR BLOG

Once you have your website set up, it’s time to drive traffic to your blog. Simply creating a website and going live on the internet doesn’t mean that people will find out about it overnight. No! You have to get the word out to the masses and let people know that your site offers real value.

1. WRITE VALUABLE CONTENT
Writing engaging articles on a regular basis that give your readers real value is one of the most effective ways to increase traffic to your blog. But this can cost you a lot of time and effort because you must ensure that every one of your articles is free from spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors. If you are not a good editor or proofreader, this can prove to be challenging. You can hire freelancers to check your work for you, which will prove to be costly over time when you consider the number of articles that you must write. But there is another more time and cost effective solution to make sure that your posts are ready to be published and that is to use an online editing softwareIf you are not a writer, or you just don’t have the time to write, there are many ways to fill your site with great content.

HERE ARE SOME WAYS TO ADD CONTENT TO YOUR SITE

i. Ask for articles from other sites
If you come across an article that you really like, contact the person who rightfully owns the piece and ask if you could share it. You may have to rewrite it somewhat to avoid duplication.

ii. Use article directories to get content
This is similar to the above in that it’s free content. However, you cannot alter or edit the article in any way, and must, therefore, publish the article in its original form. In addition, you have to provide author’s bio or any relevant link to the person that wrote the article. EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com are two directories for finding content for your blog.

iii. Break up longer post or write smaller articles

iv. Conduct an interview with someone
After the interview, you could hire a transcriber to write it up.

v. Outsourcing
This is a great way to get content for your website. You could ask co-workers, friends, family, or your readers to contribute a relevant article to your blog. You could also hire a good freelancer at a great price from companies such as

Fiverr
“Fiverr is the world's largest marketplace for services. A service offered on Fiverr is called a Gig. While $5 is a popular starting price for offers on Fiverr, tiered offers called gig Packages are also available in many different categories such as writing.”

Crowd content
Their writers will create powerful content for your website or blog.

Upwork
A global freelancing marketplace that connects businesses and independent professionals. There are thousands of writers eager to produce content for your website or blog.

“iWriter is the fastest, easiest and most reliable way to have content written for your website. You'll be able to post a project and 1000s of freelance writers from across the globe will have instant access to write your content quickly, professionally, and affordably”

2. USE SOCIAL MEDIA
Once you have written your awesome content and published your blog to go live on the internet, it’s time to get the word out on social media platforms. Some of the more effective platforms are facebook, twitter, google plus, LinkedIn, and Pinterest, especially if your site is image rich. Look for groups within these platforms that will promote your blog, especially your particular niche but don't over post as this may indicate spam and may get you banned. And make sure each post has social media buttons that are easily seen.

It’s important to have steady traffic coming to your site but you must have some way of staying connecting to or reaching your readers consistently. An email list allows you to do that. If you don’t have money to spend on email service and you are just starting your business, here are some good free platforms to help you manage your list.

4. GET YOUR SITE SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZED (SEO)
This can get quite technical but the basis of SEO is the use of keywords that people are using most often to search for things on the internet. If you can use these words in your post, it increases your chance of having your page viewed by more people, and raise your rank in search engines like google. This can get your article or post to the front page of search engine sites. This, of course, drives traffic to your blog or website. SEO marketing has become big business and people spend a lot of money and time trying to understand how people are searching the internet. However, it can be overrated because no one can know for sure exactly what keywords people are using because it changes often.

6. USE CONTENT CURATION SITES
These sites gather information from around the web; organize it around particular niches, and then present it to readers. Add your blog posts to content curation sites to help you share your content with online followers.

7. EMAIL SIGNATURE
A great way to promote your site is to link it to your signature so that every time you send a message to someone, you are potentially getting free promotion for your site when someone clicks the link.

8. WRITE A GUEST POST FOR ANOTHER BLOG IN YOUR NICHE

9. FOLLOW OTHER PEOPLE'S BLOG AND MAKE COMMENTS

10. INCLUDE YOUR SITE'S INFO. ON YOUR BUSINESS CARD
